Raleigh, NC
Thanks to my best friend from college, I had a great reason to visit North Carolina. Raleigh the state capital of North Carolina was a city undergoing many changes. I could tell that they had recently spent time making it more pedestrian and visitor friendly. The city was easy to navigate thanks to some great way-finding maps. I spent only the day downtown, but I was able to see the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science, the North Carolina Museum of History, a local authentic barbecue joint, the governor's mansion, the old city market, and the state capitol building. Did I mention they had a free bus circulator service called the R Line that could get you around, and that I was able to experience Cow Parade North Carolina 2012?
