Where am I working?
Currently, I am working as an independent contractor for LRK Consulting, LLC as a site acquisition consultant to Verizon. I'm in charge of project coordination, site acquisition, and land use approvals. Typical assignments include visiting sites to identify potential candidates for new projects, preparing and submitting land use zoning applications for existing or new projects, coordinating with 3rd party vendors, and reviewing site plans.
Additionally, I work part-time as the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District's Quality Control Inspector. My responsibilities include inspecting the 16 block district by capturing photos and taking notes of the public infrastructure so that the BID can continue to provide a lively and safe atmosphere for residents, employees, and visitors alike.
I'm originally from Valparaiso, Indiana (a small city just southeast of Chicago). After graduating high school, I spent the next four years in Muncie, Indiana getting a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning and Development at Ball State. After graduation, I moved to Baltimore, Maryland to do a summer long internship with Southern Management Corporation. At the end of the summer, I headed west to Denver, Colorado for graduate school at the University of Colorado Denver for Urban and Regional Planning.
Personally, I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, watching educational documentaries, listening to music, being adventurous, playing sports, being active, watching movies, and meeting new people. By a long mile, my absolute favorite thing in the world is to people watch.
What else keeps me busy?
Since 2013, I have served as a board member on WalkDenver, Masters of Urban and Regional Planning Alumni Association, and Emerging Planning Professionals. I have since stepped down from all three boards in order to further invest myself in my career as an independent contractor specializing in Site Acquisition.
I've also focused more time and energy on sports (tennis, volleyball, and kickball) as well as traveling (California, Texas, and South Carolina). I'll be looking forward to my 7th season of Play Mile High Sports. Additionally, I hope to visit Seattle and Austin this year to add to my travels.
