7 Falls, Colorado Springs, CO

7 Falls is a distinct natural feature that has been created over thousands of years. It gets it's name from the 7 distinct drops that can be seen at different points of the cascade down Pikes Peak granite. Each fall has a different name, and you can see the falls during day or night (an awesome light show that I haven't gotten to see yet). For some, the elevator ride through the mountain to the viewing area is enough. For others, a trip up the long staircase provides the highest achievement. The climb provides awe inspiring views, but besides the feeling of accomplishment for reaching the top, the traveler also gets to experience a few more trails that lead to Helen Hunt Jackson's grave and another waterfall feature.
